Judah Jackson Named MASCAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – For the third time this season and fifth of his career, Bridgewater State University senior forward Judah Jackson has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.

A native of Everett, Massachusetts, Jackson earned Most Valuable Player honors in leading the Bears to their third straight MASCAC Tournament championship last week.  In Bridgewater’s three tournament wins, he averaged 14.6 points, 6.3 rebounds and 5.3 assists.

Jackson notched 18 points, eight assists, and seven boards in the Bridgewater’s 91-73 championship game victory at Salem State, while adding 14 points, seven caroms and five assists in an 88-80 semifinal round triumph at MCLA.  He began the tournament with a 12-point, five rebound performance in the Bears’ 88-77 first round win over Worcester State.

Through 24 games this season, Jackson is averaging 15.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.3 steals per game while shooting 49% (142-292) from the floor.  He currently leads the MASCAC in assists and ranks third in assist to turnover ratio (1.3) and fifth in scoring.

In 105 games over his four seasons at Bridgewater, Jackson has amassed 1,460 points as he ranks seventh all-time on the Bears’ career scoring list.  He is a three-time All-MASCAC Second Team selection as well as the conference Rookie of the Year in 2007-2008.

Jackson will be competing in the NCAA Division III Tournament for the third straight season as he and his teammates will travel to Worcester, Massachusetts on Friday to take on the Engineers of WPI in the tournament’s opening round.
