Judah Jackson Named MASCAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – For the second time this season and fourth in his career, Bridgewater State University senior forward Judah Jackson has been named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.

A native of Everett, Massachusetts, Jackson averaged 17.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game while shooting 86% (12-14) at the free throw line in a perfect 2-0 week for the Bears with wins over nationally ranked MIT and MASCAC foe Westfield State.

Jackson posted a double-double with 24 points and 11 boards to go along with four assists and a .pair of blocks in BSU's 74-71 overtime win over Westfield. He also knocked down the game-tying three-pointer with 4.7 seconds remaining in regulation to send the game into overtime.

Earlier in the week, Jackson added 11 points, seven assists, three boards and a steal and did not commit a turnover in the Bears' 82-70 win on the road over 19th ranked MIT.

In the win over Westfield, Jackson moved past Mark Dias (1,282 points) and David Rukstalis (1,271 points) into 11th place on the Bears’ all-time scoring list.  Jackson now has 1,292 points in his four seasons at Bridgewater State.

Through 11 games this season, Jackson is averaging 17.7 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.4 steals per game while shooting 48% (76-157) from the floor and 70% (42-60) at the charity stripe. He leads the MASCAC in assists and is second in scoring and assist to turnover ratio (1.3).  Jackson also ranks eighth in the conference in rebounding and tenth in field goal percentage.
