Millien Leads Men's Hoops to 89-79 Win over Framingham

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. -- Behind 31 points and 13 rebounds from senior forward Roland Millien (Stoughton, MA), the Bridgewater State College men's basketball team defeated the Framingham State Rams, 89-79, tonight in Framingham. 

With the win, the Bears move to 1-1 in the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) and 7-5 overall.  Framingham dips to 9-6 on the season and 1-1 in the MASCAC.

The Bears used a 21-10 run over the first ten minutes of the second half to open up a double digit lead over the Rams that they would not relinquish.  BSC held the advantage at the free throw line over the Rams for the game as they connected on 21 of 28 from the charity stripe while Framingham only attempted 12 free throws.  Millien, who posted his seventh double-double of the season, connected on 13 of 15 from the free throw line for the Bears.

Bridgewater sophomore forward Nicholas Motta (Fairhaven, MA) contributed 16 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the floor to go along with nine boards.  Sophomore guard Judah Jackson (Everett, MA) added 14 points and seven rebounds.

The Rams were led by junior forward Josue Almodovar (Holyoke, MA) who picked up a double-double with 24 points and 11 rebounds, while Roderick Jackson (Cambridge, MA) and Darius Yarrell (Brockton, MA) added 16 and 13 points respectively.

The Rams return to action on Saturday as they travel to Worcester State at 5 PM.  Bridgewater will also be in action on Thursday as the Bears travel to UMass Boston for a 7:30 game with the Beacons.
