Nick Reca joined the Bridgewater State football coaching staff in the summer of 2021. Nick is a 2020 graduate of Castleton University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in athletic training. Nick appeared in 30 games over four seasons as a defensive back for the Spartans from 2016 to 2019 and recorded six interceptions, 13 pass breakups and 89 tackles. He earned All-Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) Second Team honors as a senior in 2019. Nick was also named to the National Football Foundation (NFF) Hampshire Honor Society in 2019 as well as the Vermont Collegiate Scholar-Athlete Hall of Fame in 2020. Prior to joining the BSU football coaching staff, Nick served as the special teams coordinator and defensive assistant coach at Tollgate High School in Warwick, Rhode Island, as well as an assistant coach at the Rhode Island Football Academy Camp. Nick is a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) as works as a personal trainer at Next Level Fitness in Johnston, Rhode Island. He presently resides in Cranston, Rhode Island.
