WESTFIELD, Mass. -- For the third time this season, the Bridgewater State University Bears have received the most votes in the MASCAC Football Play of the Week balloting.
The Bears narrowly edged out Fitchburg State in this week's poll as the two went back and forth through the duration of voting. Bridgewater State collected 42 percent of the votes while Fitchburg State ended up with 30. Massachusetts Maritime and Worcester State were also nominees in this week's poll.
In the Bears' 27-17, senior wide receiver Michael Viola (Wrentham, Mass.) hauled in a long pass from junior quarterback Danny Higgins (Manahawkin, N.J.), broke a tackle, and outran another defender to the end zone for a 71-yard touchdown.
