Football Bears to Play in ECAC Legacy Bowl

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University football team has been selected to compete in the 2015 ECAC Legacy Bowl. The Bears will take on Carnegie Mellon University on Sunday, November 22nd at noon in New Britain, Connecticut.

Arute Field, home of the Central Connecticut State University football team, is the host site for all six ECAC Bowl games this season.

The Bears are making the program's tenth trip to the postseason and seventh ECAC appearance (1989, 1992, 2005-2007, 2011). Bridgewater is 2-4 all-time in ECAC championship games including , most recently, a 41-10 loss to Alfred University in the 2011 ECAC Northeast Bowl. The Bears also advanced to the NCAA Division III Tournament in 1999, 2000 and 2012.

Bridgewater State finished the 2015 regular season with an overall record of 7-3. The Bears placed second in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) standings with a 6-2 MASCAC mark.

Carnegie Mellon posted a regular season record of 7-3 including a 6-2 mark in the President's Athletic Conference (PAC). The Tartans tied for third in the PAC standings.
