BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University senior wide receiver Matt Green has been selected to the D3football.com 2014 All-East Region Team.

Green, a third team selection, is making his second straight appearance on the All-East Region Team as he was a second team honoree in 2013.  Green is also one of six representatives from the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) to be named to the regional squad.

Green hauled in 64 passes for 900 yards and seven touchdowns during the 2014 campaign. The Stoughton, Massachusetts product led the MASCAC in receiving yards per game (112.5). He also finished third in the conference in receptions and receiving yards (despite missing two games to injury) as well as sixth in yards per catch (14.1) and receiving touchdowns.

On a national level, Green ranks 12th in all of Division III in both receptions per game (8.0) and receiving yards per game.

Green set the program's all-time receiving marks for catches and yards as he wrapped up a brilliant four-year career at BSU with 169 receptions for 2,765 yards and 29 touchdowns.  His 29 TD catches is second only to BSU Hall of Famer Andy Macaione's school record of 37.

Green also excelled on special teams this season as he averaged 13.7 yards on punt returns and returned a school record two punts for touchdowns in a 51-27 victory over Worcester State.  Green is tied for fifth nationally in punt return touchdowns and is 18th overall in punt return average.

In 2013, Green eclipsed the Bears' single-season receiving records for receptions (69), yards (1,315) and touchdowns (16).  He also broke the BSU single-game mark for receiving touchdowns with five (vs. Worcester State) and tied the single-game standard for receptions with 12 (vs. Mass. Maritime).

The Bridgewater State football team finished the 2014 season with an overall record of 4-6 including a 3-5 mark in the MASCAC standings.
