Sean Larkin Named NEFC Co-Defensive Player of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State College junior defensive end Sean Larkin has been named the New England Football Conference (NEFC) Co-Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Bears' 42-35 come-from-behind win over Framingham State.  Larkin shares the honor along with Worcester State junior defensive back Tom Sazalno.

Larkin registered eight tackles (five solo) and 3½ tackles for loss in the win over the Rams. With the game tied at 35-35 late in the fourth quarter, Larkin forced and recovered a fumble to give BSC the ball at the Framingham 39 with 3:05 to play. The Bears promptly moved the ball downfield and scored the game-winning touchdown.

Through six games this season Larkin has registered 31 tackles (21 solo) and 8½ tackles for loss.  He has also recovered four fumbles and forced one. The Pembroke, Massachusetts native currently leads the NEFC in fumble recoveries and ranks fifth in tackles for loss.

Larkin has started all 26 games for the Bears over his first three seasons.  He has totaled 124 tackles (75 solo), 26½ tackles for loss, and 5½ sacks while also recovering eight fumbles and forcing five.

Bridgewater State is currently 3-3 overall on the season and in a five-way tie for first place in the Bogan Division with a 2-1 divisional record.
