BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Bridgewater State University freshman third baseman Joey Molis has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Baseball Player and Rookie of the Week.

A native of Cumberland, Rhode Island, Molis batted .480 (12-25) with a pair of doubles and two runs scored in six games for the Bears last week at the Snowbird Baseball Classic in Port Charlotte, Florida. He also walked twice, recorded multiple hits in five of the six games and posted a .519 on base percentage.

Molis went 3-for-4 at the plate against #21 Wooster College and 3-for-4 with a walk and a run scored versus #15 Marietta College. He was also 2-for-5 with two doubles in a 4-3 win over Pitt.-Bradford, and 4-for-8 with a walk and run scored in a pair of games against Ohio Wesleyan University and Heidelberg University.
