BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – For the second straight week, Bridgewater State University junior righthander David Kerns has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Baseball Pitcher of the Week.

A native of East Cambridge, Massachusetts, Kerns allowed two runs (one earned) on seven hits in 7 1/3 innings with a pair of walks and three strikeouts in a no decision against Ohio Wesleyan University last week at the Snowbird Baseball Classic in Port Charlotte, Florida.

In two starts this season, Kerns posted a 1.50 earned run average as he gave up just two earned runs in 12 innings of work. He also fanned ten batters. 

Kerns has appeared in 20 games and made six starts over his first three seasons with the Bears. He has produced a record of 3-3 with four saves and notched 38 strikeouts in 47 innings of work with a 3.83 ERA.
