BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University senior lefthander Shane Surette has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Baseball Pitcher of the Week.

Surette tossed a complete game victory in a 4-2 decision over the University of Northwestern in his only appearance last week for the Bears. The Haverhill, Massachusetts product gave up just a pair of runs on five hits with no walks and four strikeouts in the win over the Eagles.

In two starts this season, Surette is 2-0 with one complete game. He is sporting a 2.08 earned run average over 13 innings of work with seven strikeouts while opponents are batting just .224 against him.

In upcoming action, the Bears (5-3) travel to Brandeis University on Tuesday afternoon for a three o'clock game with the Judges.
