BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University baseball team has been picked to finish sixth in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) pre-season poll in a vote conducted by the league's coaches.

The Bears, who received 22 points in the poll, open the 2015 campaign on Saturday afternoon in Vero Beach, Florida. Bridgewater will take on The Apprentice School at one.

Worcester State University, the MASCAC pre-season favorite and defending champion, earned four first place votes for 44 points. Coming in second with two first place votes for a total of 43 points is Salem State University. Westfield State University landed in third with 34 points including one first place vote.
