Baseball Downs Susquehanna, 6-3, Behind Sadoski's Complete Game

FORT PIERCE, Fla. -- Andy Sadoski (Harwich, Mass.) tossed a complete game to lead the Bridgewater State University baseball team to a 6-3 victory over Susquehanna University on Sunday at Lawnwood Park in Fort Pierce, Florida.

Bridgewater improves to 2-1 on the season, while Susquehanna slips to 2-3.

Sadoski (1-0) allowed three runs, two earned, on seven hits. He walked three and struck out eight.

David Pierce (East Bridgewater, Mass.) paced the Bears offensively as he went 3-for-4 with an RBI.

Bridgewater jumped in front with a pair of runs in the bottom of the first on a two-run double by Ian Williams (Taunton, Mass.).  The Bears made it a 3-0 game in the second on Pierce's RBI single and added three more runs in the fifth taking advantage of two Susquehanna errors.

Susquehanna cut the Bears' lead in half with a three-run sixth, but Sadoski would keep the Crusaders off the board over the final three innings to preserve the win.

Zach Place (Towanda, Pa.) suffered the loss for Susquehanna as he gave up six runs (five earned) on four hits, six walks and a hit batsmen in just 4 1/3 innings of work.  Place (0-1) also struck out six.

Ty Raubenstine (Elizabethville, Pa.) and Ethan Rieker (Lancaster, Pa.) each had two hits for the Crusaders.

Bridgewater returns to the diamond on Monday as the Bears take on Alvernia University in a twinbill starting at noon.
