Twenty-One Bears Named to Little East Winter All-Academic Team

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Twenty-one Bridgewater State University student-athletes have been named to the 2023-2024 Little East Conference (LEC) Winter All-Academic Team which was announced today.

The 21 BSU student-athletes include 12 members of the women's swimming & diving team and nine representatives from the men's swimming & diving squad.

To be named to the LEC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must be at least in sophomore standing in the classroom, have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the previous semester, and have been at their current institution for at least one full academic year.

Receiving the honor as members of the women's swimming & diving team are seniors Camryn Beals (Middleboro, Mass.), Jenna Maxim (Lakeville, Mass.) and Lily Morrison (Marshfield, Mass.); juniors Brianna Matte (Cumberland, R.I.), Brynn Murray (Chelmsford, Mass.), Evelyn Olson (Phillipston, Mass.) and Samantha White (Plymouth, Mass.); and sophomores Ava Fenton (Monument Beach, Mass.), Hannah Flockton (Plymouth, Mass.), Olivia Quintin (Fairhaven, Mass.), Julie Remson (Norwalk, Conn.) and Cailey Simard (Haverhill, Mass.).

Representing the men’s swimming & diving team are seniors Cooper Castellone (South Windsor, Conn.), Brennan Gravanda (Wilbraham, Mass.), Joseph Pervier (Baldwinville, Mass.) and Connor Young (Chelmsford, Mass.); juniors Owen Lasbury-Casey (Mansfield, Mass.), Thomas Roch (Chelmsford, Mass.) and Chase Simao (Stonington, Conn.); and sophomores Brendan Goff (Planville, Mass.) and Ryan McKenzie (Charlton, Mass.).

The Little East Conference began honoring an all-academic team during the 2007-08 academic year. While the majority of Bridgewater State varsity squads are members of the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC), four BSU teams call the Little East home. Women’s tennis competes in the Little East in the fall, men's and women's swimming & diving in the winter, and men’s tennis in the spring.
