Heather Swedis Benham competed on the Bridgewater State women's gymnastics team during the 1988-89 season. She is considered to be the greatest all-time gymnast in Bridgewater State College history. Heather is the Bridgewater record holder for the all around (34.15 pts), balance beam (8.40), floor exercise (8.65), and uneven bars (8.70). She was an ECAC Championship qualifier during her rookie season of 1988-89. She unfortunately suffered a season ending injury as a sophomore in 1989-90. She was not able to compete as a junior or senior because the gymnastics program was discontinued the following year. Heather graduated in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training. Today, Benham is running her own online wedding store, Veils and Details.

Heather, her husband Scott, and their two children, Jack and Ali, currently reside in Spencer, Massachusetts.
