BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the fourth time this season, Bridgewater State University sophomore Naomi Cass has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Cass captured the individual title to lead the BSU women's cross country team to a second place finish at the 2023 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Cross Country Championships held last Friday at the Fort Devens Course in Devens, Massachusetts. The Westport, Massachusetts product outdistanced the field of 65 runners as she completed the five-kilometer course in a time of 19:10.88 to become the Bears' first MASCAC women's cross country individual champion since Krysta Zbikowksi in 2013.

Cass also earned MASCAC Runner of the Week honors on September 19th, October 3rd and October 17th for her performances, respectively, at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational, the Keene State Invitational and the Suffolk Invitational.

Following a week off, the BSU cross country teams will compete at the Division III East Region Championships held at Hopkinton State Fairgrounds in Contoocook, New Hampshire on Saturday, November 18th.
