Nicole Major Named MASCAC Women's Cross Country Co-Rookie of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University junior Nicole Major has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Cross Country Co-Rookie of the Week. Major shares the weekly honor along with freshman Shea Hamel of Westfield State University.

A native of Andover, Massachusetts, Major garnered All-MASCAC honors as she placed second overall at the 2022 MASCAC Women's Cross Country Championships held this past weekend at Stanley Park in Westfield. Major covered the five-kilometer course in a career-best time of 19:20.84 as she helped the Bears finished third in the team standings at the meet.

Earlier this season, Major earned MASCAC Runner of the Week honors for her performance at the 26th Annual James Earley Invitational also held at Stanley Park.

Following a week off, the BSU cross country teams will compete at the New England Division III Championships hosted by Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine on Saturday, November 12th.
