LEOMINSTER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University women's cross country team opened the 2019 season with a third place finish at the Jim Sheehan Memorial Invitational held on Saturday at the Doyle Conservation Center in Leominster, Massachusetts.
Senior Jenise Madden (Milford, Mass.) placed third out of a field of 125 entrants as she covered the five-kilometer course in a time of 19:06.
Sophomore Kaylee Dunn (North Attleboro, Mass.) placed seventh with a time of 19:25.8, while freshman Julie Glavin (Weymouth, Mass.) rounded out the Bears' top three runners as she finished 19th overall with a time of 20:14.1.
Also placing in the top 25 was sophomore Katherine Vogel (Pawling, NY). Vogel completed the course in a time of 20:34.2 which was good enough for 22nd overall.
Senior Stephanie Rodriguez (Guatemala) of Babson College captured the individual title with a winning time of 18:57.6, while Mount Holyoke College won the team championship.
Following an off weekend, the Bears will compete at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday, September 21st.
