Krysta Zbikowski Named MASCAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University junior Krysta Zbikowski has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Zbikowksi captured MASCAC Runner of the Year and All-MASCAC honors after claiming the individual crown at the 2013 MASCAC Championships held this past weekend at the Narragansett School in Gorham, Maine.  The Ashburnham, Massachusetts native covered the five-kilometer course in a winning time of 19:29.25 as she helped lead the Bears to a second place finish in the team standings.

Zbikowski also placed ninth in the New England Alliance results to capture All-New England Alliance accolades.  The MASCAC Championship meet is run in conjunction with the New England Alliance Championship which comprises the eight MASCAC and seven Little East Conference schools.

After a week off, Zbikowski and her teammates will compete at the New England Division III Championships hosted by Southern Maine at the Narragansett School.
