BRIDGEWATER, Mass. --For the fourth times this season, Bridgewater State University sophomore Danielle Poto has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Poto paced the BSU women’s cross country team at the Tri-State Invitational in Lincoln, Rhode Island over the weekend as she completed the five-kilometer course with a time of 20:39.44 to finish fourth in a field of 62 runners.  The North Andover, Massachusetts native helped the Bears place second out of seven schools in the team standings at the meet.

Previously this season, Poto earned MASCAC Runner of the Week honors for each of the first three weekends of the 2013 campaign with a season-best time of 19:45 at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on September 21st.  She also captured the individual title at a tri-meet hosted by Eastern Connecticut State University on September 14th.

During her rookie campaign of 2012, Poto garnered all-conference honors as she placed seventh at the MASCAC Championships.  She also earned All-New England Alliance honors with a 14th place showing at the New England Alliance Championships.

The cross country schedule resumes for Poto and her teammates this Saturday as the Bears will compete at the James Earley Invitational hosted by Westfield State University.
