LINCOLN, R.I. -- The Bridgewater State University women's cross country team finished second out of seven teams at the Tri-State Invitational hosted by CCRI on Saturday in Lincoln, Rhode Island.
Sophomore Danielle Poto (North Andover, Mass.) was the top finisher for the Bears as she completed the five-kilometer course in a time of 20:39.44 to place fourth out of a field of 62 runners.
Junior Krysta Zbikowski (Ashburnham, Mass.) was next across the line for Bridgewater with a sixth-place time of 21:00.66. She was followed by sophomore Samantha Pinkham (Hingham, Mass.) in tenth place (21:39.49), freshman Brittany Reed (Plymouth, Mass.) in 13th (22:09.13) and sophomore Rachel Ducharme (North Attleboro, Mass.) in 17th (22:30.78).
Sophomores Emily Ducharme (North Attleboro, Mass.) and Natalya Riberdy (Feeding Hills, Mass.) rounded out the BSU harriers in the top 25 as they finished 20th (22:41.40) and 21st (22:45.26), respectively.
Next Saturday, the Bears will compete at the James Earley Invitational hosted by Westfield State University.
