Rouillard Paces Women's Cross Country at Earley Invitational

WESTFIELD, Mass. – The Bridgewater State University women's cross country team placed 19th in the 17th Annual James Earley Invitational held at Stanley Park in Westfield on Saturday.

It was the largest ever field for the annual invitational as Westfield is also hosting the NCAA Division III New England Regionals on November 10th.

Senior Molly Rouillard paced the Bears as she finished third overall with a time of 21:59.01.  Rouillard was just 29 seconds off the winning pace of 21:30.11.  She also outdistanced the closest Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) competitor, reigning MASCAC Runner of the Week Amy Trainque of host Westfield, by more than a minute.

Rouillard was followed by freshman teammates Danielle Poto (24:52.67) and Samantha Pinkham (25:29.87) in 81st and 120th place, respectively.

Nationally-ranked Middlebury College ran away with the team title, scoring 28 points as it placed five runners in the top 10. Amherst was second with 64 points followed by Wellesley (158), Colby (177), Westfield (228) and Coast Guard.

Amherst senior Keri Lambert took individual honors by crossing the finish line first in 21:30.11 on the 6,000 meters course.
