Molly Rouillard Named MASCAC Runner of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – For the sixth time this season and 12th time over the past two years, Bridgewater State University junior Molly Rouillard has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Rouillard captured her second straight individual title, and by virtue earned MASCAC Runner of the Year honors, to lead the Bears to a third place finish out of eight teams at the MASCAC Women's Cross Country Championships held this past weekend at UMass Dartmouth.

The Dartmouth, Massachusetts native completed the five-kilometer course in a time of 18:37 as she edged Westfield State freshman Amy Trainque (18:45) by eight seconds.

Last season during her rookie campaign of 2010, Rouillard was selected MASCAC Runner of the Week six times and was named both the conference runner and rookie of the year.

After a week off, Rouillard and her teammates will participate on November 12th in the NCAA Division III New England Regional meet which will be held in Brunswick, Maine and hosted by Bowdoin College.
