Women's Cross Country Places 24th at UMD Invitational

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State College women's cross country team opened the 2008 season with a 24th place showing at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore Amanda Hauswirth (Methuen, MA) was the first Bear to cross the finish line in the 5K race.  Hauswirth posted a time of 19:37 to finish in 57th place.

Fellow sophomore Jessica Eidinger (Sutton, MA) was next across the line with a time of 21:04 as she finished in 147th place overall.  Eidinger was followed by freshman Diana DeMont (West Springfield, MA) who posted a time of 21:39 to finish in 187th place.

Rounding out the rest of the BSC runners were sophomore Louise Comeford (Billerica, MA) at 21:57, sophomore Rebeccah Chase (Northfield, NH) at 22:34 and sophomore Deborah Solorzano (Woburn, MA) coming in at 22:37.
