BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University freshman outside hitter Sarah Brogioli has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Volleyball Rookie of the Week.

Brogioli notched 21 kills (.222 hit%) to go along with five aces, 18 digs and two assisted blocks in a 2-1 week for the Bears. The Milford, Massachusetts native tallied seven kills, one ace and four digs in a 3-0 MASCAC win over Salem State University. She also added eight kills, one ace, five digs and an assisted block in a 3-0 victory over Dean College, and six kills, one assist, three aces, nine digs and an assisted block in a 3-0 setback to Gordon College.

In six matches for the Bears this season, Brogioli has recorded 33 kills, seven aces and 37 digs.

The BSU volleyball team is currently 5-3 on the season and a perfect 2-0 in the MASCAC. The Bears travel to Rhode Island College tonight for a six o'clock match with the Anchorwomen.
