Three Bears Named to All-MASCAC Volleyball Team

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Bridgewater State University junior setter Charleyne Panner and junior outside hitters Clara Goncalves and Hannah Maymon have been selected to the 2015 All-Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Volleyball Team.

Panner was voted to the All-MASCAC First Team by the league's coaches, while Goncalves and Maymon are both second team selections.

A native of Gilford, New Hampshire, Panner has recorded a career-high 937 assists to go along with 65 kills, 220 digs, 37 aces and a .944 serve percentage in 32 matches this season. She leads the MASCAC in both assists and assists per set (8.29).

In three seasons with the Bears, Panner has amassed 2,378 assists, 197 kills, 103 aces and 638 digs. She is currently third all-time in program history in assists.

Goncalves has appeared in all 32 matches this season and has 259 kills, 120 digs and 31 blocks to her credit. The Dennis, Massachusetts product ranks fifth among the MASCAC leaders in kills and 11th in hitting percentage (.199). She has produced 624 kills and 241 digs over three seasons with the squad.

Maymon has started all 32 matches for the Bears this season. The Narragansett, Rhode Island native checks in with 297 kills, 244 digs, 38 aces and 22 blocks as she is third in the conference in kills, ninth in aces and 12th in digs.

Maymon has played in 103 straight matches over her first three seasons with career totals of 942 kills, 77 aces, 790 digs and 65 blocks.

Panner was also named to the All-MASCAC First Team a season ago, while Maymon is making her third consecutive appearance on the All-MASCAC Second Team. Goncalves garnered second team honors in 2014 as well. 

The BSU volleyball team is presently 13-19 (3-3 MASCAC) on the season. Seeded fourth in this week's MASCAC Tournament, the Bears knocked off #5 Salem State University, 3-0, in an opening round match on Wednesday night to advance to the semifinal round. Bridgewater will take on top-seeded MCLA on Saturday at noon in North Adams.
