Volleyball Falls to MCLA, 3-1, in MASCAC Semifinals

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Top-seeded MCLA received 26 kills and 17 digs from Allison Clark as the Trailblazers held off fourth-seeded Bridgewater State University, 3-1, in a MASCAC Volleyball Tournament semifinal match played in the Amsler Campus Center Gym. 

With the win, MCLA (23-9) advances to the championship match later this afternoon.  Bridgewater ends their season at 13-20 overall.

The Trailblazers cruised in the first two sets riding Clark to set wins of 25-17 and 25-16.  The Bears responded by rallying in the third set to win 28-26 and then held the lead for much of the fourth set until the end of the match.  Bridgewater held set point following a Hannah Maymon kill at 24-23, but two straight Clark kills put MCLA in position to advance.  An attack error by the Bears gave MCLA the 26-24 match clinching win.

Clark tallied 26 kills on 51 attacks for MCLA.  Rachel Mills added ten kills in the victory, while Courtney Parent had a season high 34 assists.  Beatrice Lechler added 20 assists off the bench.  Angelica Perfido had 22 digs for MCLA to join Clark.  Brittney Pihl ended with 14 digs while Chanielle Enomoto had 11.

Te Bears were paced by 13 kills apiece from Maymon and Clara GoncalvesCharleyne Panner set up the offense all day long notching 41 assists on the day.  Alyssa Kelley had a team best 16 digs while Panner and Cassidy Tyros had 13 and 11 respectively.
