Maymon Named to All-Tournament Team at Union Invitational

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- The Bridgewater State University volleyball team dropped a pair of matches during day two of the Union Invitational on Saturday.  The Bears, who finished 0-4 at the invitational, fell to Susquehanna University (25-12, 25-14, 25-11), and Lasell College (25-22, 25-23, 25-20) by identical 3-0 scores.

Sophomore outside hitter Hannah Maymon (Narragansett, R.I.) was selected to the All-Tournament Team.  Maymon averaged 10.75 kills and 12.25 digs in BSU's four matches over the two-day event.

In Saturday's matches, Maymon finished with nine kills and seven digs against Susquehanna and 11 kills and ten digs versus Lasell.

Sophomore outside hitter Clara Goncalves (Dennis, Mass.) added six kills in the loss to Susquehanna, while senior setter Sarah Mullarkey (Salem, Mass.) notched 19 assists and six digs.

In the setback to Lasell, Goncalves recorded eight kills, Mullarkey finished with 28 assists, and junior middle hitter Julie Hutchins (Bellingham, Mass.) chipped in with three kills, three aces, four digs and a pair of assisted blocks.

The Bears (14-12) travel to Framingham State University on Tuesday evening (6:00) for a key Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) match with the Rams. Bridgewater is 2-1 in MASCAC play, while Framingham is 3-0 and tied for first place in the conference standings.
