GETTYSBURG, Pa. -- The Bridgewater State University volleyball team posted a pair of 3-0 victories over Penn State Harrisburg and Alfred University during day two of the 2014 Battlefield Classic hosted by Gettysburg College.

The Bears, who finished 2-2 at the tournament, won by scores of 25-18, 25-14 and 26-24 in the sweep of Penn State, and 25-23, 25-15 and 25-15 in the win over Alfred.

Sophomore setter Charleyne Panner (Gilford, N.H.) was named to the All-Tournament Team for the Bears.  Panner notched 25 assists, eight kills and two aces in the win over Penn State as well as 23 assists, three aces and two kills in the victory over Alfred.

Freshman middle hitter Christina Jaros (Plymouth, Mass,) tallied 14 kills and eight blocks (five solo) in the two matches, while sophomore outside hitter Hannah Maymon (Narragansett, R.I.) recorded 18 kills and nine digs and sophomore outside hitter Clara Goncalves (Dennis, Mass.) added 16 kills.  

In upcoming action, the Bears entertain Colby-Sawyer College on Wednesday evening at six. The match marks the home opener for the Bears.
