NORTHAMPTON, Mass. -- Junior setter Melanie Appleman (Hyannis, Mass.) earned All-Tournament honors to lead the Bridgewater State University volleyball team at the Hall of Fame Invitational held at Smith College and Mount Holyoke College this weekend.

The Bears went 1-2 at the tournament with a 3-0 victory over Mount Holyoke (25-13, 25-19, 25-21) and a pair of 3-0 setbacks to Brandeis University (25-20, 25-19, 25-18) and Tufts Unversity (21-17, 21-15, 25-12).

Appleman finished with 55 assists, 28 digs, 12 kills and four aces during the tournament as she averaged 18.3 assists, 9.3 digs, 4.0 kills and 1.3 aces.

Junior middle hitter Michelle Atkins (Chelsea, Mass.) notched seven kills and four solo blocks in the loss to Brandeis, while freshman outside hitter Carolyn Morin (Marstons Mille, Mass.) tallied seven kills and junior libero Kristen Robillard (Swansean, Mass.) finished with 13 digs and a pair of aces in the win  over Mount Holyoke.
