BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – The Bridgewater State University women's volleyball team posted a 3-0 (25-6, 25-5, 25-12) MASCAC win over Massachusetts Maritime Academy on Wednesday night at the Tinsley Center in Bridgewater.

The host Bears improve to 7-10 on the season and 3-0 in the MASCAC while the Buccaneers drop to 0-15 overall and 0-2 in conference play.

Sophomore middle hitter Tayler Beck (Marion, Mass.) notched five kills, four digs and three aces for Bridgewater while classmate Melanie Appleman (Hyannis, Mass.) tallied seven aces, eight assists and a pair of kills.  Sophomore Kristen Robillard (Swansea, Mass.) added five aces and eight digs.  The Bears, overall as a team, recorded 25 aces in the match.  

Junior middle hitter Alex Burgess-Chrost (Leominster, Mass.) paced the visiting Buccaneer with three kills while junior Laura Basile (Cambridge, Mass.) and freshman Meghan Weir (North Andover, Mass.) added six digs apiece.

Bridgewater is off until October 7th and 8th when the Bears compete at the 31st Annual Crabtree Classic hosted by Eastern Connecticut State University.   Mass. Maritime hosts Roger Williams University tomorrow night at seven.
