Volleyball Drops Pair of Matches at MIT Invitational

MEDFORD, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State College volleyball team dropped a pair of matches during the first day of action at the MIT Invitational on Friday.  The Bears dropped a 3-0 decision to Tufts University, and then lost in four games to Wellesley College.

Junior setter Natalie Cohen (Marstons Mills, MA) notched 25 assists, 11 digs and six kills in the two matches, while sophomore middle hitter Shelly DePina (New Bedford, MA) added 13 kills and two solo blocks.

Also highlighting the scoresheet for the Bears was senior libero Brianne Cobb (New Bedford, MA) who chipped in with 19 digs and a pair of aces. 

Bridgewater State will compete in the tournament's consolation bracket on Saturday.  The Bears will take on Colby-Sawyer College at 10 AM followed by a two o'clock match with Smith College.
