Women's Track & Field

Julie Williams-Tinkham joined the Bridgewater State track & field coaching staff in January of 2024. Julie comes to BSU with almost 30 years of competitive and coaching track and field experience. She served as the throws coach at Babson College for several seasons. She also has extensive high school track and field coaching experience. Most recently, Williams-Tinkham started a youth track and field program, Launch Track & Field, coaching athletes aged 5-14, including a 2023 shot put national champion (8 and under).

Williams-Tinkham is a native of Falmouth, Massachusetts, where she still holds the high school record for the discus throw. She competed at the University of Maine and continues to compete as a Master’s Track and Field athlete for Twilight Throwers.

Julie is an active athlete delegate for USATF Masters. She represents USATF-NE and USATF Masters on the USATF Diversity and Leadership Committee. She is also a USATF certified official.

Julie Williams-Tinkham has her BS in Kinesiology and Physical Education and MEd in Educational Leadership, both from the University of Maine. She is currently a health and physical education teacher and department head for Barnstable Public Schools in Hyannis. Williams-Tinkham resides in Falmouth with her spouse and two children.
