Naomi Cass Named MASCAC Women's Indoor Track & Field Rookie of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University sophomore Naomi Cass has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Indoor Track & Field Rookie of the Week.

Cass hit for a PR in the 5,000-meter run to earn All-NEICAAA honors this past weekend at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Championhips held at The Track at New Balance. The Westport, Massachusetts native posted a time of 17:47.59 to finish tenth at the meet which featured competition from all three NCAA divisions.

Cass finished the indoor season ranked sixth in the East Region in the 5,000 and 15th in the 3,000-meter run.

The MASCAC Rookie of the Week honor marks the first of Cass' career. She also earned MASCAC Runner of the Week accolades five times this past fall during the cross country season.
