BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the third time this season, Bridgewater State University junior Kiara Abrantes has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.

Abrantes earned All-NEICAAA honors in the 400-meter dash this past weekend at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Championships held at The Track & New Balance. The Somerset, Massachusetts product posted a finals time of 57.73 seconds to place fourth at the meet which featured competition from all three NCAA divisions. She also recorded a PR of 57.20 seconds in the 400 preliminaries.

Abrantes finished the indoor season ranked sixth in the East Region in both the 400 and 200-meter dash, and 15th in the 60-meter dash. She was also 34th in all of Division III in the 400.

The MASCAC Track Athlete of the Week honor marks the third of Abrantes' career.
