CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Several members of the Bridgewater State University women's track & field team competed on Sunday at the USATF New England Indoor Track & Field Championships.

Graduate student Jailene Escalera (Rockland, Mass.) placed second in both the 60-meter dash (7.83) and the 200-meter dash (25.44).

Junior Kiara Abrantes (Somerset, Mass.) placed second in the 400-meter dash (57.85) and third in the 200 (25.48). Abrantes' time in the 200 was a PR.

Junior Tristen Gomes (Middleboro, Mass.) placed second in the triple jump (34'9.25"/10.98m) while senior Juliana Patrone (Wilmington, Mass.) was second in the high jump (5'3"/1.60m).

Juniors Kate Brown (Acushnet, Mass.) and Lily Valcovic (East Taunton, Mass.) each recorded a PR in the mile. Brown finished 15th (5:30.68) in the event while Valcovic checked in at 22nd (5:35.97).

Qualifying members of the BSU track & field teams will compete next Sunday at the Division III New England Championships held at The Track at New Balance.
