Jenise Madden Named MASCAC Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University senior Jenise Madden has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.

Madden placed fourth and qualified for the Division III New England Championships in the mile with a time of 5:20.81 at the Joe Donahue Games hosted by Northeastern University this past weekend at the Reggie Lewis Center. The Milford, Massachusetts native also ran a leg on the Bears’ uncontested 4x800-meter relay team which posted a time of 10:35.82. Currently 15th nationally in the event.

Madden currently ranks fourth in New England in the mile and eighth in the 3,000-meter run. She is also 15th in all of Division III in the mile and 31st in the 3,000.

The MASCAC Track Athlete of the Week honor marks the second of Madden’s career and first indoor distinction. She is also a four-time recipient of the MASCAC Cross Country Runner of the Week award.

The BSU track & field teams are off until after the New Year when the Bears compete at the Tufts Invitational on Saturday, January 18th.
