Jayci Andrews Honored at Ring Ceremony

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University senior track & field standout Jayci Andrews was presented her two National Championships rings on Saturday (Oct, 19) during halftime of the Bears' Homecoming football game.

Andrews, who became the first female NCAA champion in school history, captured her first of two national titles in March of this year at the Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships held at the Reggie Lewis Center. The Plymouth, Massachusetts product won the 60-meter hurdles with a finals and school-record time of 8.68 seconds. Jayci continued her remarkable year in May at the Division III Outdoor Championships in Geneva, Ohio by winning the 100-meter hurdles in a school-record time of 13.66 seconds.

BSU President Fred Clark, Director of Athletics Dr. Marybeth Lamb and Head Track & Field Coach Connor Foley were on hand to make the presentation to Jayci.
