Track & Field Teams Compete at NEICAAA Outdoor Championships

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Bridgewater State University outdoor track and field teams competed at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Championships held at Southern Connecticut State University this weekend.

Sophomore Felix Mensah (Lowell, Mass.) helped the men's team place at the meet as the Bears tied WPI for 30th overall with four team points.  Mensah earned All-NEICAAA honors as he placed fifth in the 100-meter dash with a finals time of 11.11 seconds.  He posted a time of 11.07 seconds in the preliminaries.

Bridgewater's 4 x 100-meter relay team of Mensah, sophomore Mohammed Malik (West Bridgewater, Mass.) and freshmen twins Joshua and Joseph Danner-Hick (Bedford, Mass.) placed ninth in the event with a time of 43.26 seconds.

Joshua Danner-Hicks also finished 20th in the triple jump with a leap of 39 feet, 10.5 inches (12.15 meters).

On the women's side, junior Carrie Robitaille (Ludlow, Mass.) placed 19th in the triple jump(35'1.25") and 26th in the 100-meter hurdles (16.04 seconds.), while classmate Sarah Lagasse (Rehoboth, Mass.) finished 20th in the 400-meter hurdles (1:07.67).

The Bears' 4 x 400-meter relay team of Lagasse, senior Jessica Eidinger (Sutton, Mass.) and juniors Co Davis (Mansfield, Mass.) and Molly Rouillard (Dartmouth, Mass.) posted a 13th place showing in the event.

The BSU women's team did not score at the meet.
