Robitaille Paces Women's Team at BSU Bears Invitational

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University hosted the BSU Bears Track and Field Invitational on Saturday afternoon.  It marked Bridgewater's first home track meet in over 12 years and the first on the newly renovated Swenson Field.

Junior Carrie Robitaille (Ludlow, Mass.) paced the Bears' women's team as she won the high jump and qualified for the Division III New England Championships with a leap of 1.52 meters. 

Robitaille also placed second in the triple jump (10.31m) and third in the 100-meter hurdles (16.56 seconds). She qualified for the Division III New Englands in the hurdles as well.

Classmate Co Davis (Mansfield, Mass.) and senior Brittany Page (Winthrop, Mass.) were also event champions at the meet.  Davis placed first and qualified for DIII New Englands in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:08.79.  Page did the same in the hammer throw as she posted a distance of 40.76 meters.

The Bears relay team of senior Jessica Eidinger (Sutton, Mass.), junior Melissa Harris (Uxbridge, Mass.), sophomore Jillian Herr (Saugus, Mass.) and freshman Karen Anselmi (Franklin, Mass.) finished second in the 4 x 400.
