Molly Rouillard Provisionally Qualifies for NCAA Championships

NEW YORK CITY, N.Y. -- Junior Molly Rouillard (Dartmouth, Mass.) provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships in the 400-meter dash to lead the Bridgewater State University women's track team at the ECAC Division III Championships on Saturday.

Rouillard posted a BSU school record time of 58.20 seconds to finish in fifth place in the event.  She broke her own mark of 59.05 seconds set earlier this season.

Rouillard also ran a leg on the Bears' school record-setting 4 x 800-meter relay squad which placed ninth with a time of 9:42.75.  Joining her on the relay were classmates Sarah Lagasse (Rehoboth, Mass.) and Melissa Harris (Uxbridge, Mass.) and senior Jessica Eidinger (Sutton, Mass.).  The foursome broke the BSU indoor mark of 10:04.45 set in 2010.

Lagasse posted the Bears' third record-setting performance as she placed 17th in the 1,000-meter run with a time of 3:03.25.  Lagasse eclipsed Katie Carter's 2002 indoor mark of 3:04.02.

Also placing in the top eight in an event, in addition to Rouillard in the 400, was junior Carrie Robitaille (Ludlow, Mass.). Robitaille finished sixth in the pentathlon with a score of 2,876 points.

Junior Co Davis (Mansfield, Mass.) added a tenth place showing in the 500-meter dash (1:19.57).

The women's team tied for 33rd place in the team standings with seven points.
