Women's 4 x 200 Record Falls as Bears Compete at Tufts Invitational II

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – The Bridgewater State University women's track and field team competed at the Tufts Invitational II on Saturday.

Junior Co Davis (Mansfield, Mass.), sophomore Taylor Smith (Cumberland, R.I.) and freshmen Karen Anselmi (Franklin, Mass.) and Rebecca Geldmacher (Rochester, Mass.) broke the school mark in the 4 x 200-meter relay with a time of 1:51.78.  They eclipsed the previous BSU standard of 1:56.10 set back in 1998 by Sharice Pounds, Joanne Draper, Bridgett Russo and Nicole Brehaut.

Davis, Smith, Anselmi and Geldmacher placed fourth in the event at the meet.

Junior Molly Rouillard (Dartmouth, Mass.) placed second in the 800-meter run as she posted a time of 2:22.17.  Classmate Sarah Lagasse (Rehoboth, Mass.) finished fourth in the 800 with a time of 2:25.52.

Next weekend, the Bears will compete in the MASCAC and New England Alliance Championships hosted by Rhode Island College.
