Track Teams Compete at ECAC Division III Championships

Women's Results

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State College men's and women's track and field teams competed at the ECAC Division III Indoor Championships held at Smith College on Saturday.  

Sophomore Bill Taft (Hanson, MA) set the BSC men's indoor record in the 1,000-meter run with a time of 2:34.49 as he placed ninth in the event.  Taft eclipsed Mark Power's previous school mark of 2:35.45 set in 2005.  

Also on the men's side, the Bears' 4 x 800 relay team of Taft, junior Ryan D'Arcangelo (Norfolk, MA), sophomore Mike Sukeforth (Middleboro, MA) and freshman Stephen Wahome (Lowell, MA) finished 11th at the meet with a time of 8:15.05.  

The Bridgewater State women's track team had two relays competing on the Saturday.  Sophomores Colleen Davis (Mansfield, MA), Sarah Lagasse (Rehoboth, MA) and Carrie Robitaille (Ludlow, MA), and freshman Kylie Almeida (Somerset, MA) placed 15th in the 4 x 400 relay with a time of 4:12.00.  

The Bears' 4 x 800 relay squad of juniors Jessica Eidinger (Sutton, MA), Carissa Penney (Gardner, MA) and Brittany Robinson (Gardner, MA), and sophomore Melissa Harris (Uxbridge, MA) finished 15th in the event with a time of 10:11.21.
