Women's Track Places Third at MASCAC Championships

WESTFIELD, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State College women's outdoor track and field team placed third at the MASCAC Championships held at Westfield State College over the weekend.

BSC tallied 106 points for the meet finishing behind conference champion Westfield State (249 points) and Worcester State (117 points).

Freshman Colleen Davis (Mansfield, MA) led the way for BSC as she captured the MASCAC title in both the 400-meter dash (1:01.14) and the 400-meter hurdles (1:07.44).

Junior Kerri Rooke (Springfield, MA) and freshman Kerry Mullane (Cumberland, RI) also claimed top honors for the Bears.  Rooke placed first in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 45:25.15, while Mullane registered a distance of 122'8.0" to win the javelin event.

Posting second place finishes for BSC were sophomores Jessica Eidinger (Sutton, MA), Amanda Hauswirth (Methuen, MA) and Brittany Page (Winthrop, MA).  Eidinger recorded a time of 5:13.43 in the 1,500-meter run, while Hauswirth finished with a time of 20:40.19 in the 5,000-meter run.  Page posted a distance of 33'10.0" in the shot put.
