Silveira, Lotti Named to CSC Academic All-District® One Women's Tennis Team

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Two members of the Bridgewater State University women's tennis program have been selected to the 2023-2024 Academic All-District® One Division III Women's Tennis Team by the College Sports Communicators (CSC).

Earning the honor from Bridgewater State are graduare student Mackenzie Silveira and junior Meghan Lotti

Silveira and Lotti are two of 17 student-athletes from the Little East Conference (LEC) to earn the honor.

The 2023-2024 Academic All-District® Women’s Tennis Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes tennis honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

To be eligible for all-academic honors, a student-athlete must be a starter or a key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director. A student-athlete must have also played in at least 50% of her team's contests for the 2023 season.

Silveira, who is making her second straight appearance on the CSC Academic All-District® One Division III Women's Tennis Team, checks in with an impressive 3.90 grade point average in her first year as a graduate student. The Middletown, Rhode Island product, earned her undergraduate degree in criminal justice from Bridgewater State last year as she produced a cumulative undergrad GPA of 3.59.

Silveira recorded a 30-18 doubles mark in three season with the Bears including a 17-7 record in the Little East. She was also 14-13 in singles competition with a 9-6 conference mark.

A native of Stoneham, Massachusetts, Lotti is majoring in communication studies and checks in with an impressive 3.93 GPA.

In her first two seasons with the Bears, Lotti has produced an 18-8 singles record including a 12-4 Little East mark. She is also 18-7 in doubles competition with a 10-2 record versus conference opponents.

Silveira and Lotti helped the BSU women's tennis team post a 9-5 record in the fall of 2023 including a 6-2 conference mark. Seeded third in the Little East Tournament, the Bears dropped a tough 5-4 decision to #6 Western Connecticut State University in the tournament quarterfinals.
