Simard Headlines Bears' 11 Representatives on All-Little East Women's Swimming & Diving Team

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. - The Little East Conference (LEC) formally announced the 2023-2024 women’s swimming & diving all-conference team on Wednesday. All-conference recognition was determined by individual and relay performances at last week’s LEC Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships.

The BSU women's swimming & diving team had 11 different student-athletes earn All-Little East accolades. LEC individual and relay champions garnered first team honors on the all-conference team while second place finishers were named to the All-Little East Second Team and third place performers earned third team accolades. The Bears placed first in two events, second in a pair of competitions and third in 14 events.

BSU sophomore Cailey Simard (Haverhill, Mass.) swept the diving events at the Little East Championships for the second straight year as she picked up a pair of All-Little East First Team awards. The two-time LEC Diver of the Year posted an 11-dive score of 464.20 points on the one-meter board and 463.85 points on the three-meter to earn the league title in both events. Simard also set school and meet records on both boards.

Representing Bridgewater State on the All-Little East Second Team are seniors Hannah Geoffrion (Barnstable, Mass.) and Jenna Maxim (Lakeville, Mass.); and juniors Jenna Fiebiger (Johannesburg, South Africa), Brianna Matte (Cumberland, R.I.) and Samantha White (Plymouth, Mass.).

Geoffrion placed second in the 200 butterfly while the foursome of Fiebiger, White, Matte and Maxim finished second in the 200 medley relay.

Fiebiger also earned All-Little East Third Team accolades in the 50 and 100 freestyle; White in the 50 and 100 breaststroke; Matte in the 200 individual medley: and Maxim in the 100 and 200 backstroke.

The Bears' All-LEC Third Team honorees also include juniors Brynn Murray (Chelmsford, Mass.) and Olivia Pelletier (East Kingston, N.H.); sophomores Emily Bradford (Pittsfield, Mass.) and Julie Remson (Norwalk, Conn.); and freshman Ava Anderson (Lynn, Mass.).

Murray placed third in the 200 freestyle, Bradford in the 500 freestyle, Remson in the 50 backstroke and Anderson in both the one-meter and three-meter diving competitions. The 200 freestyle relay (Murray, Pelletier, Matte, Fiebiger) and 800 freestyle relay (Pelletier, Matte, Bradford, Murray) squads round out the Bears' third team selections.
