Women's Swimming & Diving Falls to DII Bentley, 189-99

WALTHAM, Mass. -- The Bridgwater State University women's swimming & diving team dropped a 189-99 Decision to Division II Bentley University on Thursday evening at the Dana Center Pool.

Sophomore Cailey Simard (Haverhill, Mass.) placed second in both diving events as she posted scores of 276.53 points on the one-meter board and 218.85 points on the three-meter.

Freshman Ava Anderson (Lynn, Mass.) recorded third place performances in the one-meter diving competition (178.13 pts.) and the three-meter (173.25 pts.).

The foursome of sophomore Julie Remson (Norwalk, Conn.) and juniors Summer Martin (Norton, Mass.), Brynn Murray (Chelmsford, Mass.) and Olivia Pelletier (East Kingston, N.H.) opened the meet with a third place showing in the 200 medley relay (2:04.43).

Martin also placed third in the 50 breaststroke (37.16) while Murray was third in the 500 freestyle (6:01.19). Junior Brianna Matte (Cumberland, R.I.) finished third in the 200 freestyle (2:14.42). 

Murray along with classmate Jenna Fiebiger (Johannesburg, South Africa) and seniors Jenna Maxim (Lakeville, Mass.) and Hannah Geoffrion (Barnstable, Mass.) placed third in the 200 freestyle relay (1:51.90) to close out the meet.

The Bears (3-5) will travel to Babson College on Saturday morning to take on the Beavers at 11:00 AM.
