Simard Places 17th on One-Meter Board at NCAA Regional Diving Championships

NEW YORY, N.Y. – Bridgewater State University freshman Cailey Simard (Haverhill, Mass.) placed 17th out of a field of 26 student-athletes during the one-meter diving competition on Saturday afternoon at the 2023 NCAA Division III Northeast/North Regional Women's Diving Championships held at the NYU Palladium Athletic Facility.

Simard, who was one of six freshman competing at the meet, posted an 11-dive score of 361.45 points.

Sophomore Issara Schmidt of host NYU captured top honors at the championship meet with 425.90 points.

Sophomores Sydney Bluestein (421.15 pts.) of Amherst College and Rachel Loh (408.20 pts.) of MIT rounded out the top three scorers at the meet. They were followed by freshman Donna Zhang (404.65 pts.) of Amherst College in fourth place, Williams College senior Emma Casey (402.85 pts.) in fifth, sophomore Ava Dijstelbloem (399.40 pts.) of MIT in sixth place, MIT freshman Emma Scott (393.45 pts.) in seventh place and junior Madeleine Sewell (387.65 pts.) of Mount Holyoke College in eighth.

On Friday, Simard placed 16th out of a field of 24 student-athletes in the three-meter diving competition with an 11-dive score of 369.40 points.
