Women's Swimming & Diving Wins Five Events in 130-107 Setback to Clark

WORCESTER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University women's swimming & diving team dropped a 130-107 decision to Clark University on Saturday afternoon at the Kneller Pool.

Graduate student Alexa Wilson (Centerville, Mass.) captured top honors in the one-meter diving competition with a season-best score of 237.80 points.

The BSU foursome of senior Makayla Paquin (North Easton, Mass.), freshman Emily Bradford (Pittsfield, Mass.) and sophomores Brianna Matte (Cumberland, R.I.) and Brynn Murray (Chelmsford, Mass.) opened the meet with a victory in the 200 medley relay. The quartet posted a time of 2:04.42.

Matte was also the first to touch the wall in the 500 freestyle (5:59.67), while Bradford added a first place performance in the 50 breaststroke (36.28).

Paquin, fellow senior Danielle Vissering (North Andover, Mass.), sophomore Olivia Pelletier (East Kingston, N.H.) and junior Olivia Ranck (Wilbraham, Mass.) closed out the meet with a win in the 200 freestyle relay (1:50.64).

The Bears (2-2) placed first in five of the 13 events.

Next Saturday afternoon, the Bears will travel to Wheaton College for a one o'clock tri-meet with the host Lyons and Gordon College.
