Coogan, Bonney Lead Women’s Swimming & Diving During Day Two of NEISDA Championships

KINGSTON, R.I. -- Seniors Mackenzie Coogan (Assonet, Mass.) and Megan Bonney (Hoffman Estates, Il..) garnered All-NEISDA honors to lead the Bridgewater State University women's swimming & diving team during the second day of the 2020 New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association (NEISDA) Championships held at the URI Tootell Aquatic Center.

Coogan placed fifth in the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.92 seconds, while Bonney finished sixth in the event with a time of 25.05 seconds. Coogan was just 2/100 of a second off Bonney's school record time of 24.90 seconds set last year.

Senior Adi Tobias (North Attleboro, Mass.) placed ninth in the 50 breaststroke (32.62) and sophomore Selin Marino (East Greenwich, R.I.) was tenth in the 500 freestyle (5:33.62). Sophomore Danielle Vissering (North Andover, Mass.) and junior Allison Hunt (Norton, Mass.) finished tenth (25.57) and 11th (25.76), respectively, in the 50 freestyle.

Tobias, Hunt, sophomore Makayla Paquin (North Easton, Mass.) and freshman Hannah Geoffrion (Barnstable, Mass.) placed seventh in the 400 medley relay with a time of 4:18.10.

Senior Alexa Wilson (Centerville, Mass.) recorded a score of 320.95 points in the preliminaries of the one-meter diving competition as she is currently in fourth place in the event.

The Bears are currently in fifth place in the team standings with 237 points. The four-day championships meet continues on Saturday morning with the preliminary round getting underway at ten.
